SPORTS TECH TOKYO Announces Inaugural Cohort of 12 Finalists
12 startups from seven countries across the sports tech industry will anchor World Demo Day at Oracle Park in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 26, 2019 – SPORTS TECH TOKYO, the largest sports tech community in the world, announced its 12 program finalists today. Finalists will participate in an intensive three-month, primarily virtual mentorship program, culminating in World Demo Day, where the finalists will present new technologies and partnerships developed during the program. World Demo Day will take place at Oracle Park in San Francisco on August 20, 2019.

Oracle Park is the home stadium of San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball.
The soon to be announced finalists of the program will have the opportunity to present their results from participating in the program at a well-known venue perfectly fit for sports tech.
SPORTS TECH TOKYO Hosted a Kickoff Conference in Hibiya, Tokyo.
SPORTS TECH TOKYO hosted a kickoff conference at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya and Imperial Hotel Tokyo from April 8th to 10th. More than 500 people joined either as startup participants, partners, sports advisory board members, mentors, investors, or media.
104 startup participants from 19 countries attended the conference. In addition to keynote sessions, they had multiple meetings to expand their business opportunities such pitch sessions and 1 on 1 business matching meetings.
SPORTS TECH TOKYO will choose finalists from among the 159 startup participants to enter the 3-month mentorship program.
The final list will be announced on the official website soon.
A Wide Range of Companies, Including ITOCHU, Join SPORTS TECH TOKYO
ITOCHU Corporation, ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation, Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd, and CBC Co., Ltd announced they will join SPORTS TECH TOKYO as program partners. SPORTS TECH TOKYO will work with these leading partners on business development opportunities to create a positive impact on sports businesses.
Announcing Kickoff Conference in Tokyo, April 8 -10, for 159 Selected Participants
SPORTS TECH TOKYO has selected 159 participants into the program from hundreds of applications from 33 countries.
We’re excited to announce our kickoff conference which will include startups that have been selected to participate, partners, sponsors, the advisory board, and media. The goal of the kickoff conference, which will be on April 8-10, is to generate new business opportunities.
Announcing our 2nd STT meet-up on Tuesday March 19th.
At this 2nd STT meetup, we will share information about the program applications and results (accepted applications will be listed by end of February) as well as discuss global sports tech trends. We will also introduce some of the accepted startups. Our goal is to provide attendees with a clear up-to-date vision of the sports tech ecosystem that may help with potential businesses or partnerships. Our corporate partners, sponsors and local mentors will join for networking opportunities.
SPORTS TECH TOKYO Announces 36 Additional Companies Accepted into the Program
We are excited to announce 36 additional companies that have been accepted into SPORTS TECH TOKYO. With the previous 14 companies announced on January 8th, this brings the total to 50 companies. The program expects a final count of 100 to 150 companies to be accepted as participants by the time the application process closes.

Announcing SPORTS TECH TOKYO Meetup at Cyber Communications
We are excited to announce our first meetup in Tokyo. This will be a casual networking event for startups that are interested in SPORTS TECH TOKYO and are considering applying. The event will include a program overview and Q&A.
Many of our program partners, sponsors and mentors based in Japan will attend so we welcome startups that have already applied to the program to come meet everyone.

We are excited to announce the first 14 companies that have been accepted into SPORTS TECH TOKYO.
※These 14 companies are accepted as participants of which there will be a total of 100-150. From the participant group, 10-20 companies will become finalists.
Applications are still open and will be closing at 23:59 January 31st, 2019 in PST.
